In 3-Card Poker, players compete against the dealer using a simplified poker format. Here are the high-level rules:
The Objective: The goal is to have a better 3-card poker hand than the dealer.
Ante and Pair Plus Bets: Players place an ante bet to compete against the dealer, and optionally, a Pair Plus bet, which is a wager on whether they will receive a pair or better.
Dealing the Cards: Both the player and dealer are dealt three cards face down.
Player's Decision: After viewing their cards, the player can either fold (forfeit the ante) or place an additional "play" bet, which must be equal to the ante, to continue.
Dealer's Qualification: The dealer must have at least a Queen-high to qualify. If the dealer doesn’t qualify, the player wins even money on the ante, and the play bet is returned.
Hand Comparison: If the dealer qualifies, the player’s hand is compared to the dealer’s hand:
If the player's hand is higher, they win both the ante and play bets.
If the dealer's hand is higher, the player loses both bets.
If it's a tie, both bets push.
Bonus Payouts:
Players receive an ante bonus for strong hands like a straight or better, regardless of the dealer’s hand.
Pair Plus payouts are based on the strength of the player’s hand, independent of the dealer's cards.
